Booktalk Booklists - Gere Book Shares for 2013

Here's another batch of Booktalk Booklists that we haven't previously shared on the BookGuide blog. When the Gere Branch BooksTalk sessions are taking their hiatuses from "prepared" presentations, the group members still occasionally get together for simple "Book Share" meetings -- during which everyone talks about what they've recently been reading.

New Booktalk Booklist - A Green Thumb or Maybe Not So Green

Here we are in late February, and a lot of readers' thoughts are probably already turning to Spring -- gardening and other outdoor pursuits. Here's a booktalk booklist we haven't previously shared to the blog -- A Green Thumb or Maybe Not So Green. Longtime Gere BooksTalk volunteer host Pam B. presented this talk back on April 9, 2012 -- sharing both fiction and non-fiction with a gardening theme. Hopefully this will get you started on plans to return to the great outdoors...once all the snow is gone!

New Booktalk Booklist - Get Your Kicks on Route 66

If you missed Pat's recent booktalk on the theme of Route 66, presented at the Gere Branch on February 13, 2012, never fear -- her booklist is now available on the library BookGuide readers advisory pages!

Check it out at: Get Your Kicks on Route 66, for some excellent books -- both non-fiction and novels -- about the Mother Road that served America as the primary travel conduit to California from the 1920s to the 1970s.

New Booktalk Booklists - Gere Book Shares - 8/8 and 9/26/2011

During the summer months, the Gere Branch BooksTalk group didn't go on a complete hiatus, but instead continued to meet, once a month, on the 2nd Monday of each summer month. For these meetings, there was not a specified presenter, with a prepared book talk. Instead, those were "Book Share" opportunities!

All attendees were encouraged to share/recommend whatever they've been reading, listening to, or watching recently.

Lists were compiled of all the titles mentioned during both the August 8th and September 26th Book Sharing sessions.
