What's Your Favorite Horror Novel or Story?

October is the month for horror fiction. We'd love to hear from you with your answer to the following question:

What is your all-time favorite Horror novel or story?

This could be a classic, like Bram Stoker's Dracula or Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's Frankenstein, or a contemporary, such as something by Stephen King, Peter Straub, Dean Koontz, Dan Simmons or Robert Bloch. Perhaps you prefer Paranormal Romances -- a little horror and a little "hot stuff" (if so, check out our new booklist -- Fangs a Lot), Conspiracy Theories, Alien Abductions or End-of-the-World tales. Whatever your horror fiction preferences, we'd love to hear about your favorites in the comments below!

Anything by H.P. Lovecraft will do for me.

I've always enjoyed Stephen King's horror novels, particular Salem's Lot, The Stand and Cujo. Another author worth sampling is Peter Straub. And then, of course, there's King's son, Joe Hill, who had a good one a couple of years ago with Heart-Shaped Box.

"Rosemary's Baby" by Ira Levin, no question about it!
