The Prometheus Award has been presented each year since 1982 by the Libertarian Futurist Society to a science fiction or general fiction title that best explores the concepts of freedom. In addition to the annual award for best Libertarian science fiction novel, a "Hall of Fame" category was created to honor older classic novels that exemplify the concepts of libertarianism, or to acknowledge some past authors' entire bodies of work.
