In December 2022, a new booklist was released on the Lincoln City Libraries' BookGuide readers advisory web pages: Science Fiction and Fantasy Murder Mysteries. The last several years have seen a number of these cross-genre crossovers, where traditional "murder mystery" plots have turned out to be major plot elements in a science fiction or fantasy novel setting. But this crossover genre actually goes back many decades.
This extensive booklist covers both older titles and recent releases, single titles and long-running series. If you're a mystery fan who doesn't mind a slightly different background to your "sleuth solves the mystery" storyline...give one of these a shot.
