New Booklist on BookGuide - Authors We Love (2023)

 

In February 2023, prior to putting up a monthly display for “Valentine’s Day” on the theme of Authors We Love, staff members at the Bennett Martin Public Library were asked to submit 3-5 authors they were big fans of, and that variety of authors would be rotated through that display over the course of the month. Here is a list of the authors the Bennett Martin staff offered up.

In January 2023, a new booklist was released on the Lincoln City Libraries' BookGuide readers advisory web pages, in conjunction with a new book display at the main library downtown: Bennett Martin Public Library Staff - Favorite Reads in 2022. This list was compiled from input by various staff members at the headquarters library -- in the public service area, the administration, and the support services staff in the basement.

What Was Your Favorite Read of 2012?

Here we are at the beginning of a new year -- time to look back at what we enjoyed about 2012. And one of the most popular categories of annual reminiscing is our traditional question:

"What did you most enjoy reading in 2012?"

Although, to be fair, we're happy to modify that to ask all of you -- What was the favorite thing you checked out from a library in the past twelve months? And what format did you make use of -- book, ebook, book-on-cd, downloadable audiobook, dvd, music CD, magazine?

What's Your Favorite Horror Novel or Story?

October is the month for horror fiction. We'd love to hear from you with your answer to the following question:

What is your all-time favorite Horror novel or story?

This could be a classic, like Bram Stoker's Dracula or Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's Frankenstein, or a contemporary, such as something by Stephen King, Peter Straub, Dean Koontz, Dan Simmons or Robert Bloch. Hello to all the visitors to the BookGuide blog as we make our way into 2009!

We don't often get a lot of comments posted on BookGuide blog posts, although we know there are a lot of visitors stopping by the site. We'd like to hear more from you. With that in mind, we encourage any and all visitors to leave a comment in response to the following question:
